Configuring MailEnable to listen on an alternative port

By default MailEnable listens on port 25. But we can configure it to listen on other ports too.

Follow the steps below to enable an alternate SMTP port in MailEnable.

1.     Login to the server using Remote Desktop.
2.     Open the MailEnable Administrator.
3.     Now go to Servers>>localhost>>Connectors
4.     Right click “SMTP” and go to properties.
5.     Click on the tab “Inbound”.
6.     Check the Box “Also listen on alternate port” and specify the alternative port say 587.
7.     Save it and restart the MailEnable service.

• Please also make sure that the same port is allowed by the Windows firewall.
